Jones Lang LaSalle launched the Green Blog last year, just before Greenbuild in Phoenix. In the past year, the Green Blog has been a great way for our executives (and some friends of the firm) to share their experiences and practical tips for improving energy and sustainability in buildings.
With Greenbuild approaching again, we will take the blog to the next level. We’ve worked with conference organizers to create the Social Networking Garden, a space on the main concourse dedicated to networking—both face-to-face and over the Internet. We will provide up-to-the-minute reports on Greenbuild via Twitter, a video blog posted on YouTube and in national magazines. But the main event will be a blogging station, with four computers set up for Greenbuild participants to enter their own blog posts on the Green Blog.
Followers of the blog who are not at Greenbuild will see a big jump in the number of new posts next week as we expect dozens of people to add their voices to the conversation on the Green Blog. Readers who are at Greenbuild are strongly encouraged to stop by the Social Networking Garden and share your thoughts on the conference or the general state of green buildings. Bloggers will see their posts and their photos on one of the big plasma screens on display at the Garden, and will receive a gift card for signing up to follow the blog. And as an added bonus, we will hold a drawing on Friday to give a grand prize to one lucky blogger.
We’ll see you soon in Chicago!
