Facility Management Journal

It’s the Facility Management Journal’s second day at Greenbuild 2010. What a great experience so far. There continues to be a big focus on convincing the C-suite on investing in sustainability initiatives (especially under a budget). It was also interesting to see the continued unique emergence of new products and companies that give everyday items a whole new environmentally responsible meaning. I was also quite intrigued with the growing popularity of the International Facility Management’s Association’s new sustainability specialty credential (the SFP). I believe it will be a good addition to the sustainability credentials out there, particularly since it’s focus is on educating the individual.

Last but not least, what a refreshing feeling to see more focus on social media tools. Kudos to the staff and Jones Lang LaSalle for spreading the word on the powerful communication capabilities of social media. This will certainly help our friends around the world who are not able to make the conference–as well as keep the lines of communications open among all of us who are not able to connect in Chicago.

Congratulations to everyone for everyone involved for a job well done.
