If anyone still doubts that corporate america is looking for ways to save energy, they should have been at the 2011 ENERGY STAR awards dinner on Tuesday, April 12, sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency.
This year, 111 ENERGY STAR Partners were honored for demonstrating leadership and commitment to energy efficiency achievements. Among these leaders are among the most widely-recognized corporations in the world….Citi, Merck and Whirlpool.
This growing support from all economic sectors, including industrial, financial, retail, construction, real estate and energy, is helping to produce staggering results. In 2010, with the help of ENERGY STAR, Americans saved approximlatey $18 billion on their energy bills, preventing greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 33 million vehicles. To date, more than 12,600 commercial and public use buildings have earned ENERGY STAR. And, since 2000, approximately 3.5 billiong ENERGY STAR qualified products have been sold.
