More and more real estate owners and stakeholders are considering energy retrofits and other sustainable investments. The decision process involves addressing a number of issues: why make an existing building green; how to introduce green policies to existing tenants; the current state of government mandates and incentives; and legal issues ranging from rent structures to green cleaning specifications to energy-use monitoring.
One way to learn more is by attending a webinar sponsored by Morgan Lewis entitled “Green Building Retrofits: Incentives and Considerations,” which takes place on Tuesday, June 21 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. ET. Panelists will include a real estate attorney (Jeannine Bishop of Morgan Lewis), general counsel for an owner (Brad Molotsky, LEED GA, of Brandywine Realty Trust), a director of sustainability (Brett Stevens, LEED AP, of IEI Group), and a project manager (me). We’ll highlight practical considerations for real estate landlords, owners, and tenants. CLE credit in Florida, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia is pending approval.
