Today marks the start of World Green Building Week, sponsored by the World Green Building Council. Our global Energy and Sustainability Services team saw this worldwide event as a great opportunity to connect our professionals around the world on this topic of great importance to our business and our daily lives. And our global Green Blog is the perfect place for this exchange to take place.
As a worldwide company serving many companies looking for global consistency in their energy and sustainability initiatives, Jones Lang LaSalle is in the vanguard of organizations working toward programs and policies that address environmental issues all over the world. We all have a shared interest in combating climate change threats, curtailing deforestation, conserving potable water, managing waste, and addressing other environmental issues. But every region has its own priorities, so developing strategies that align these diverse goals is a world-class challenge.
Our firm is in a unique position to help overcome those challenges, by engaging with leaders in business, government and the NGO community who share our passion for long-term environmental sustainability. The list of our relationships and initiatives to work toward worldwide solutions is far too long to detail here, however they include CDP Cities, World Economic Forum and Greenprint Foundation. This week, our energy and sustainability colleagues from 10 countries will share their expertise and experiences in working to create healthier, more sustainable buildings and communities.
