We have been singing the praises of sustainability benchmarking for over 15 years because it drives real environmental and social performance in the building environment. So I’m really excited about our involvement in the The Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB).

The GRESB is a free annual sustainability survey for real estate investment portfolios that is open to real estate funds and companies until 14th June 2012. Participants receive an individual scorecard on their portfolio, offering a unique insight into their relative sustainability performance against peers and leaders in their region.

In 2011, more than 350 real estate fund managers and property companies participated and over 30 institutional investors are actively using it to engage with their investments. GRESB is also a strategic partner of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and is aligned with the EPRA and INREV best practice reporting recommendations.
