Jones Lang LaSalle’s 2012 Sustainability Report documents the firm’s achievements and challenges within our services and operations. The report demonstrates how we are making a difference for our clients, employees, shareholders and the global community in five sustainability categories:
Energy and resources
Client service excellence
Green buildings
Community and supply chain
Workplace, well-being and diversity


The firm is committed to lead the transformation of the real estate industry by making a positive impact both in and beyond our business. Some highlights from our report include:
We helped clients in our United States-managed portfolio achieve emissions reductions equivalent to removing 190,000 cars from the road, resulting in $176 million in savings, up from $105 million in 2011. By implementing energy-savings practices across the globe, we helped our clients reduce their GHG emissions by 913,000 metric tons, an increase of 326,000 in one yearNamed one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies, America’s Most Trustworthy Companies and 100 Best Corporate Citizens in early 2013
Reduced building GHG emissions per employee by 4 percent from 2011-2012 in our own operations
Provided excellence to our clients through leading research such as the Global Sustainability Perspective, which accumulated over 21,500 unique page views in 2012
Achieved the most LEED Accredited Professionals and Green Associates of any organization
Across our own portfolio, we increased the proportion of total offices with green building principles or certifications during 2012
Developed a strong focus on supplier sustainability for ourselves and our clients
Recorded charitable contributions of at least USD 3.8 million and gave at least 1,749 volunteering days
Increased employee engagement scores in key areas such as those who feel positive about our commitment to sustainability and highly engaged within the firm overall


 Our 2012 Sustainability Report is based on Global Reporting Initiative standards to a self-declared Level C. We also piloted integrated reporting principles as members of the International Integrated Reporting Council.
