Energy and Sustainability Services
Want to reduce energy consumption in your workplace?
Start by just sharing information. It’s incredibly effective and very inexpensive. But, it works.
The American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE) claims that up to 12% energy savings can be achieved by way of real-time energy feedback devices that tell people how much energy is being consumed.
Even where there is no sub-metering in an office, new devices make it simple to monitor energy use at individual work stations, including “vampire load” from devices that continue to use energy even when they are “off.”
We find time and time again that when people can see the results of what they are doing, they will change behaviors.
They say that information is power. In this case, information means less power. And, that’s a good thing.
